This year, during a period of low energy, stress and anxiety, I wrote a fairy tale.
I took three days off to wander in Sestri Levante, the Ligurian seaside town where Hans Christian Andersen once stayed. After returning to Milan, I put the story of my Orange Rabbit into words and submitted it to the Premio Andersen – Baia delle Favole.
To my surprise, I won.
Downstream: The Fantastic Journey of Orange Rabbit is a story about confronting one’s deepest shadow, integrating Yin and Yang, and ultimately returning home.
I am deeply grateful for this recognition, and I hope to share this story with many more children and adults, in as many forms as possible. ✨
