“Free & Easy Wandering” (2022) is a project from my fairy-tale exhibition created during the post-lockdown period in Shanghai, in collaboration with NICE Commune.
As the opening chapter of the Taoist classic Zhuangzi, Free & Easy Wandering describes a spiritual state of absolute freedom. To reach this state, one must cultivate a new perspective — seeing the world as an interconnected whole.
In my fantasy universe, creatures no longer exist in separation; they merge into one continuous life form. What are these beings seeking? Perhaps it is the absolute freedom of being.
At a time when physical freedom was restricted, imagination became boundless — and through it, the soul remains alive.
